Attilio Stefanori (Rome 1860–1911) - Nun Fainted charcoal and pastel on card 51.8 x 81.5 cm This study focuses on a little-known work by Stefanori, *The Sack of Rome*. This large painting, whose current location is unknown, is situated in a room of the now-abandoned Guglielmi Castle, also known as Isabella Castle, on Isola Maggiore in Lake Trasimeno. This highly narrative painting depicts a scene—brimming with numerous figures—of the famous Sack of Rome in 1527 at the hands of the Landsknechts.
