Carabiniere helmet and breastplate set consisting of: - Carabiniere helmet. Brass helmet body stamped with “Delachausée” and dated “1856.” Crest decorated with laurel leaves (reattached, helmet re-drilled), gilded pomegranate motif, star-shaped bossets, and figure-eight ring chinstraps lined with leather, made of brass. Headband and radiating bossets made of iron. White metal band (one minor blemish with traces of soldering). Red horsehair chenille. Leather inner liner with wolf-tooth lacing, eyelets, and original label. Visor and neck guard lined with leather. Height: 35 cm. A.B.E. Minor dents. - Carabiniere breastplate. Made of iron with brass trim and brass rivets. Radiating iron pattern with a brass motif stamped with an eagle. Shoulder guards with chain links and brass clasps, lined with leather (cracks and restorations), leather straps. Front plate and back plate stamped “799.” The breastplate is marked “Manufre Rale de Klingenthal April 1831 – 1st size – 2nd width No. 300.” The backplate is unmarked. The belt is missing.
