BOX BINDING. Early 19th century. Formerly titled “Nouveau cours complet d’Agriculture théorique et pratique….” Paris, 1809. In-8 format (13.5 x 20.5 x 4.5 cm). 23 pp. concealing the box’s hiding compartment. Made of period tan sheepskin with a grained finish; smooth spine adorned with scrolls, fillets, and gilt foliage; gilt title; edges speckled with red. Gilded coat of arms in the center of the front cover (either a forgery or unidentified). Stains and signs of wear; the lower cover needs to be reattached, but the item is intact.
