[PRIVATE ENGLISH COLLECTION] CHINESE INSIDE-PAINTED 'LANDSCAPE' GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE CHEN ZHONGSAN (1885-1957), DATED 1909 陳仲三 1909年（己酉） 玻璃內畫風景人物圖鼻煙壺of compressed form, painted with a continuous scene of a mountain village inn coming to life at dawn, the reverse with a merchant driving a team of two donkeys across a plank bridge towards a far gateway over the road, dated to Ji You year, corresponding to 1909AD, signature and a seal of the artist, with a red stopper 5.9cm high without stopper Private English collection, London; inherited from the artist Lottie Davis, by repute gifted to her by the Office of the Chargé d’Affaires in Beijing in the mid-20th century.英格蘭私人收藏，倫敦；繼承自藝術家洛蒂・戴維斯（Lottie Davis），據傳其於20世紀中葉由北京大使館贈予。 Two highly comparable snuff bottles by the artist, painted with the similar scene, one dated 1917, sold at Bonhams Hong Kong, 25 May 2011, lot 81; the other dated 1908, sold at the same saleroom as above, 20 December 2024, lot 1147.
