Only eleven bottles by him are currently recorded. Although he devoted his entire career to emulating Zhou Leyuan’s style and much of his subject matter, he was a highly competent artist who produced several outstanding paintings. His career appears to have spanned the period from 1896 to 1906, with the majority of his paintings dating to the earlier years.Compare to a rare double square-section bottle by Zhu Zhanyuan, dated 1897, sold at Christie's New York, 14 Sep 2016, lot 414.
