In-12, simple signed binding in a brown box, adorned with a medallion cold-stamped in gold on the front cover depicting the 13th station (inverted), original gold- and silver-speckled cover preserved, top trimmed and gilt, edges gilt on endpapers, lined slipcase (Cretté). The book, printed on Japanese paper, features 5 drawings, a black-and-white sequence, and two detailed illustrations. A unique edition limited to 100 numbered copies on Japanese paper, verified and signed by the artist; this particular copy is not numbered but is identified as Germaine de Coster’s copy on the verification page (in her own handwriting and signed). This delightful book was entirely created, illustrated, and laid out by Germaine de Coster. It features 14 original monochrome compositions engraved on threadwood using the Japanese method. Each of these engravings illustrates a station of the Cross. Our signed, bound volume has been significantly expanded to include additional sequences and original drawings. Binding shows some wear.
