CLAIRIN (Pierre Eugène, ill.) & TOULET (Paul-Jean). *La Jeune fille verte*. Paris: Le Livre contemporain, 1953. Loose-leaf, with illustrated cover, publisher’s folder, and slipcase. Limited edition of only 130 copies. The text is illustrated with 43 original color compositions by Pierre-Eugène Clairin (1897–1977), a Parisian painter and engraver renowned for his richly colored illustrations and decorative sensibility rooted in Post-Impressionism. This copy contains a letter from André Schuck to Jacques Guignard. A paleographer, archivist, and erudite humanist, Jacques Guignard (1912–1980) devoted his career to the National Library, where he directed the Prints Collection before heading the Arsenal Library from 1961 to 1980. Combining a deep knowledge of the history of the book with a rare artistic sensibility, he enriched and promoted the heritage collections while playing a pioneering role in the development of international bibliophilia. Enclosed: LABOUREUR (Jean Emile, ill.) & TOULET (Paul-Jean). *Les Trois impostures*. Paris, Creuzevault, 1946. Loose-leaf, with a padded cover, publisher’s folder, and slipcase. First edition published posthumously for both the text and illustrations, limited to 310 numbered copies. Paul-Jean Toulet (1867–1920) is one of the most distinctive figures in French literature of the Belle Époque. *Les Trois impostures* brings together three short narrative pieces in which Toulet displays, one last time, his art of the short story and witty dialogue. The illustrations are by Jean-Émile Laboureur (1877–1943), whose precise technique and elegant line work complement the refined simplicity of Toulet’s text. Minor flaws. Experts: Loup Axmann and Jean-Luc Boisseau
