LA MÉSANGÈRE (Pierre Joseph Antoine Lebout de). Plates taken primarily from *Costume parisien*. A collection of 264 color plates from various fashion magazines published between 1822 and 1830 during the Restoration. Contemporary binding in half-basane with maroquin-embossed corners, smooth spine with decorative embellishments, title page in green maroquin. Some foxing, restorations, and water stains. The magazines from which the plates are taken are: *Le Costume parisien*, *Le Conseiller des grâces*, *Le Petit Courrier des Dames*, *Modes de Paris*, and *Modes de Longchamps*. The plates were hand-colored from the outset. In good overall condition; one plate is partially torn and “repaired” on the spine with a strip of adhesive tape that has left a faint imprint on the following plate. Binding is rubbed; the joints, corners, and cap ends are worn. Included: *Grace: Thirty Years of Fashion at Vogue*. Paris, Edition 7L, 2002. A large, sturdy volume with an illustrated cloth-bound cover, glassine wrapping, and the publisher’s slipcase. A book chronicling Grace Coddington’s career in fashion. Born in 1941 in Anglesey, Grace is a Welsh model and creative director. She served as creative director of American Vogue until early 2016. Case is damaged. Experts: Loup Axmann and Jean-Luc Boisseau
