Contemporary signed binding, chocolate-colored half-maroquin with corner pieces, titled ribbed spine, title label (difficult to read, possibly Torbier). Printed in a run of 300 numbered copies on Holland paper. This catalog contains 266 entries for manuscripts or incunabula written in French. A few old corrections in pink pencil. Paris, E. Meugnot, 1860. In-12, 125 pp. on Holland paper. Contemporary binding in half-chamois calfskin, ribbed spine decorated with gilt fillets. The work provides extensive information on the public and private libraries of Paris, the Archives, and the École des Chartes. It also features miscellaneous items, anecdotes, and quotations, and lists the leading French booksellers and bookbinders. Louis Lacour de La Pijardière (1832–1891) was then a librarian at Sainte-Geneviève. But he was also a historian and archivist. The edges and corners are slightly scuffed, and the lower cap is damaged. Experts: Loup Axmann and Jean-Luc Boisseau
