A PAIR OF CHINESE JADE XI WARRING STATES Dimensions: Height 5,5 cm Wide 2 cm Depth 0,3 cm Weight: 16,7 grams both A pair of small curved jade xi pendants carved from warm yellow-brown stone. Each piece terminates in a pointed, fang-like curve and is decorated near the broader end with compact relief scrolls. The two objects are closely matched in scale, colour and profile and are displayed as a pair. Their appeal lies in the tension between the simple tapering silhouette and the concentrated ornament near the attachment end, a format well suited to suspension as personal adornment.
