(R) A LIGHT GREEN JADE CARVING OF A CRAB AND TWO OCTOPUSES, CHINA, 19TH CENTURY, WHITE JADE Dimensions: Height 2 cm Wide 5 cm Depth 7 cm Weight: 74 grams A charming nineteenth-century Chinese white-to-light-green jade carving depicting a crab entwined with two octopuses. The animals are arranged as a compact openwork group, with curling tentacles, rounded claws and gently modelled bodies interlocking around pierced spaces. The pale translucent stone is polished to a smooth finish, while subtle natural colour variations enrich the intricate carving. Marine creatures offer the carver a lively repertoire of curling forms and animated silhouettes, here brought together in a delightful sculptural knot. The refined openwork and carefully balanced composition reveal the decorative inventiveness of Qing-dynasty Chinese jade carving, making this small hardstone group an especially appealing collector's piece. This VAT is waived for: - Private buyers outside the EU who officially export the items.- Businesses inside the EU holding a valid VAT number, exporting to their home country.
