(R) TWO JAPANESE WOODPRINTS A pair of Japanese woodblock prints mounted together. One presents a dramatic nocturnal warrior scene in which armed figures confront a large serpent or dragon-like creature amid turbulent water and rocks. The second print centres on a single brightly dressed figure within a more compact composition. Strong outlines, patterned textiles and saturated blocks of colour give the two sheets distinctly theatrical impact. Both prints belong to the narrative world of Edo-period ukiyo-e, where legendary episodes, warriors and popular figures were rendered with strong diagonals and highly legible colour. Their contrasting subjects make the pair visually varied while remaining coherent as 19th-century Japanese prints. For lots marked with (R), a 19% VAT is added to the combined hammer price and commission. This VAT is waived for: - Private buyers outside the EU who officially export the items.- Businesses inside the EU holding a valid VAT number, exporting to their home country. Proper export documentation is required to waive the VAT
