SMALL CHARMING BRONZE VAJRA TIBET 18TH CENTURY Dimensions: Height 1,5 cm Wide 6,5 cm Depth 1,5 cm Weight: 21 grams A miniature eighteenth-century Tibetan bronze vajra, its balanced double-ended form centred upon a neatly moulded handgrip. Delicate prongs curve inward at each terminal to form the characteristic openwork diamond or thunderbolt motif, while small collars and raised details enliven the compact casting. Green oxidation gathers in the recessed areas, contrasting with darker rubbed surfaces that emphasise the fine workmanship. The vajra is one of the principal ritual objects of Tibetan Buddhism, symbolising indestructible enlightened wisdom and spiritual power. Despite its diminutive dimensions, this beautifully detailed bronze retains the complete form and symbolic force of a full-sized ceremonial implement, making it especially attractive as a portable devotional miniature.
