A PEAR SHAPED VASE JUN KILN Dimensions: Height 26 cm Wide 13 cm Depth 13 cm Weight: 980 grams A Chinese pear-shaped Jun-kiln vase with a full rounded body tapering gracefully towards a slender neck and gently flared rim. Its lustrous glaze moves through subtle shades of purple, lavender, rose and misty blue, gathering into soft opalescent passages across the swelling contours of the vessel. The simple silhouette provides a beautiful setting for the kiln's characteristic flowing colour effects, allowing the glaze itself to become the principal ornament. Jun ceramics occupy an admired position in the history of Chinese stoneware, particularly for their richly varied copper-red and blue glazes. This elegant vase combines a classical pear shape with a luminous, atmospheric surface.
