A STANDING BRONZE VISHNU CAMBODIA Dimensions: Height 25,5 cm Wide 10 cm Depth 6 cm Weight: 1052 grams A standing four-armed figure on a low stepped base, wearing a tall tiered headdress, large earrings and a patterned waistcloth. The frontal pose is composed and symmetrical, while the raised hands and the surviving attributes give movement to the upper silhouette. Incised and cast details define the necklace, chest ornaments and garment folds. A varied blue-green surface patina is interrupted by darker areas that emphasise the contours of the face and limbs. The four-armed form and formal stance are consistent with images of Vishnu in the Khmer artistic tradition, in which divine identity is conveyed through posture, headdress and attributes. The figure's compact proportions and carefully articulated ornament offer a direct, sculptural reading of that iconography.
