(R) TWO PAGES WITH JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINTS AND DRAWING, EDO PERIOD Two mounted pages bring together Japanese printed imagery and a smaller ink drawing or monochrome illustration. The sheets include narrative scenes with groups of figures among rocks and trees, rendered in fine linear detail and restrained areas of colour. The arrangement preserves the relationship between separate images, allowing the eye to move between their varied scales and pictorial rhythms. The combination of graphic line, text and storytelling imagery recalls the rich visual culture of Japanese illustrated books and woodblock printing. Rather than presenting a single isolated composition, the pages show how images could be collected, compared and displayed together. For lots marked with (R), a 19% VAT is added to the combined hammer price and commission. This VAT is waived for: - Private buyers outside the EU who officially export the items.- Businesses inside the EU holding a valid VAT number, exporting to their home country. Proper export documentation is required to waive the VAT
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
