(R) A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAINE DISH, 18TH CENTURY Dimensions: Height 4 cm Diameter 25 cm Weight: 576 grams A shallow blue-and-white porcelain dish painted in underglaze cobalt, the central medallion depicting a river landscape with pavilion, trees, rocks and distant hills. A diaper-pattern band encircles the cavetto, while the rim is decorated with flowering sprays reserved against the white ground. The reverse is more restrained, with a neatly finished foot ring and glazed base. The composition reflects the enduring Qing taste for combining pictorial landscape painting with disciplined decorative borders. Fine variations in cobalt create depth within the central scene, while the broad white areas prevent the ornament from becoming visually dense. Minor firing irregularities and traces of kiln grit are consistent with the manufacture of the period. For lots marked with (R), a 19% VAT is added to the combined hammer price and commission. This VAT is waived for: - Private buyers outside the EU who officially export the items.- Businesses inside the EU holding a valid VAT number, exporting to their home country. Proper export documentation is required to waive the VAT
