TWELVE DEEDS OF THE BUDDHA, BUDDHIST NARRATIVE HANGING SCROLL PAINTING Dimensions: 90 cm x 40 cm A vertical Buddhist painting filled with a sequence of sacred scenes arranged around a central figure and a series of smaller, haloed images. Warm ochres, deep reds and dark passages create a dense, richly patterned field, while circular aureoles and architectural or landscape settings help separate the individual episodes. The many figures are small, yet the repeated halos and gestures give the whole composition a strong devotional rhythm. Such cycles condense an extensive sacred biography into a single pictorial arrangement, inviting sustained viewing as the eye moves between the episodes.
