SMALL INDIA BRONZE 19TH CENTURY Dimensions: Height 10,8 cm Wide 6,5 cm Depth 3,5 cm Weight: 62 grams A small Indian bronze figure standing frontally beneath an arched frame surmounted by a stylised finial. The elongated body is rendered with large almond-shaped eyes, a prominent nose and simplified anatomical forms; both hands grasp the sides of the arch, while the figure rises from a flaring integral base. The direct modelling, emphatic facial features and integration of figure, arch and base are characteristic of vernacular devotional bronzes made for intimate use rather than monumental display. A dark brown patina covers the surface, with smoother passages indicating prolonged handling and ritual use.
