A SEATED BRONZE BUDDHA AMITHABA TIBET 1900 Dimensions: Height 25 cm Wide 20 cm Depth 15 cm Weight: 1961 grams A seated bronze Buddha shown in meditation on a broad, tiered lotus pedestal. The figure's shoulders are gently rounded, the robe draped across the torso in restrained folds, and the hands rest close together in the lap. The head is crowned by a small finial above the tightly modelled hair, while the face has a calm, inward-looking expression. Brown and golden highlights animate the darker surface. The lotus throne separates the enlightened figure from the ordinary world and provides a visual foundation for the stillness of the seated posture. Here the broad base and compact body create a balanced, frontal composition, while the softly modelled face gives the image an intimate devotional presence.
