(R) A CARVED JADE FIGURE OF A MYTHICAL BEAST, CHINA, SONG DNYASTY (960-1279) Dimensions: Height 12 cm Wide 6,3 cm Depth 2,2 cm Weight: 285,2 grams A compact green jade carving of a recumbent mythical animal, its rounded body defined by deeply curved limbs and a prominent head. Incised linear patterns accent the face and flanks, while the smoothly finished underside shows the tucked feet and small drilled openings. The stone ranges from olive green to paler tones, with scattered natural inclusions and polished highlights. Imaginary beasts have a long place in Chinese jade carving, where protective associations and the pleasure of skilful workmanship often meet. The animal's compressed pose makes the silhouette dense and self-contained, while the lively incisions invite examination at close range. This VAT is waived for: - Private buyers outside the EU who officially export the items.- Businesses inside the EU holding a valid VAT number, exporting to their home country.
