A SMALL DUCK CHINA 1950'S Dimensions: Height 5 cm Wide 3 cm Depth 7 cm Weight: 40 grams A delightful small Chinese duck figure from the 1950s, decorated in a vivid palette of turquoise green, orange-red, yellow and cobalt blue. The compact bird stands upon a low base with a rounded body, upright head and carefully delineated wings. Painted feather patterns, bright eyes and richly coloured scrolling motifs give the figure an exceptionally lively appearance. The humorous expression and saturated enamel-like colours lend this miniature animal a distinctive mid-twentieth-century character. Chinese decorative animal figures have long appealed to collectors for their symbolism and charm, and this colourful duck makes an attractive cabinet piece.
