S SEATED BRONZE BUDDHA TIBET 13TH CENTURY STYLE Dimensions: Height 25 cm Wide 15 cm Depth 14 cm Weight: 1580 grams A seated bronze Buddhist figure from the Tibetan or Himalayan tradition, shown cross-legged on a broad double-lotus base. The crowned figure holds the hands close together before the chest in a ritual gesture, while elaborate necklaces, earrings and arm ornaments frame the carefully modelled upper body. The tall, richly detailed headdress rises above a serene face with lowered eyes and softly defined features. Broad lotus petals support the compact seated form, and darker surface tones gather in the recesses of the bronze, contrasting with warm highlights on the projecting ornament. The elaborate crown, detailed jewellery and lotus pedestal give the seated Buddha a distinctly ceremonial presence.
