A SEATED BRONZE GANDAHRA BUDDHA Dimensions: Height 11 cm Wide 8 cm Depth 2,5 cm Weight: 775 grams A seated Gandharan bronze Buddha in meditation, presented frontally beneath a broad circular halo. The composed figure sits with legs crossed, hands gathered at the lap and flowing drapery arranged in rhythmic folds across the torso and knees. A compact integral base gives the sculpture a firm foundation, while deep green-brown patination settles around the finely modelled garments. The halo provides a striking frame for the calm face and balanced pose. Gandharan Buddhist sculpture is celebrated for its distinctive approach to drapery and spiritual portraiture, and this bronze brings those features together in a particularly focused and appealing miniature devotional image.
