TANG ZUISHI (1885–1969) PINK SOAPSTONE PENDANT SEAL Dimensions: Height 6,5 cm Wide 5 cm Depth 1,2 cm Weight: 71,7 grams A rectangular pendant seal carved from mottled pink soapstone, pierced at the top to form an arched suspension handle. One broad face bears an engraved inscription, while the narrow edge carries a seal-script mark. Cream and rose inclusions move irregularly through the stone and are used as part of the visual character of the object. The restrained rectangular form places emphasis on the engraved calligraphy and the natural colouring of the stone, while the pierced handle makes the object practical as a personal seal or pendant-like scholarly accessory.
