TORII School, 18th century Six genre and humorous scenes: a boat ride, a fishing scene, a snack break among chrysanthemums, an interior scene with children, travelers in the mountains, and the harvest of a giant radish (daikon); illustrated book leaves (ehon) printed in black and accented with pink (beni) and green, yoko-e format, signed Kiyonobu ga (reading uncertain), mounted together on a green fabric background. Under glass, in a red lacquered frame. On the back, an old label reading “Kiyonaga, complete series (6 scenes).” Provenance: Robert de Strycker Collection, 11.5 x 17.5 cm.
