A rare FALDA worn by His Holiness Pope Pius IX and later by Leo XIII. It comes with an authentic Vatican document dated 1912 stating that it was used in Gaeta in 1848. Signs of wear, discoloration, and foxing. The falda is a distinctive papal garment that forms a long skirt extending below the hem of the alb. The skirts of the falda were so long that the pope had attendants to carry the train in front and behind him when he had to move about.
