151 - CARICATURAL DUO…

CARICATURAL DUO… "Le Couple témoin," a film by William Klein, starring Anémone and André Dussolier, 1977. Vintage poster, designed by William Klein, printed by Richier Laugier—Paris. 160 x 120 cm. Folded poster. Note: Anémone and André Dussolier play Claudine and Jean-Michel, two “average” French people selected by an enigmatic Ministry of the Future. Settled for several months in an experimental apartment, they must test equipment from the year 2000 under the constant supervision of psycho-sociologists and television cameras. Through this experiment in standardization taken to the point of absurdity, photographer and filmmaker William Klein crafts a satire of consumer society, technocracy, the media, and the erosion of privacy. The poster’s caricature-style design, also created by Klein, visually extends the film’s dark humor and pop aesthetic.
