CHEST ON LEGS A wooden chest or small trunk with a domed lid, partially covered with patinated metal plates, studded and riveted, featuring geometric decoration. The front features an elaborate grid pattern accented with cabochons and adorned with cut-out metal fittings. Metal side handles. The chest was later mounted on a tall wooden base with four tapered legs, transforming it into an accent piece that can be used, for example, as storage or a bar cabinet. The design is inspired by traditional travel or wedding chests, likely from the 20th century. Chest: 48 × 45 × 27 cm. Overall dimensions: 95 × 48 × 38 cm. Signs of wear, scratches, oxidation, and traces of use. Base likely added later. Note: A unique chest with a domed lid, clad in patinated metal, studded and riveted, mounted on an elegant tall wooden base. Reminiscent of antique travel or wedding chests, this highly decorative piece can now be repurposed as a bar cabinet, storage unit, or side table. A unique piece blending rustic charm, folk art, and a love of travel.
