Paul OBODEY in MOREZ, cast-iron bell tower movement, steel axles, brass gears, pin escapements. The dial is enamelled in white and black with Roman numerals. Paul Auguste Odobey (1851–1923) was the eldest son of Louis-Delphin Odobey Cadet (1827–1906), a clockmaker and manufacturer of monumental clocks based in Morez, in the Jura region. In 1880, Paul founded his own company, called Paul Odobey Fils, after working alongside his father. His company, in turn, became one of France’s leading manufacturers of architectural clocks. Although their companies were competitors, father and son continued to collaborate in the field of clockmaking. 178x140x67 cm Sold by designation
