In 1933, he constructed his first life-size articulated doll there, photographs of which he published in 1934 in *Die Puppe*. Since his works were deemed “degenerate” by the Nazi regime, he moved to Paris in 1938, where André Breton’s circle welcomed him into the Surrealist movement, alongside Max Ernst and Man Ray. Interned at the Les Milles camp in 1939–1940, he collaborated with Paul Éluard after the war on *Les Jeux de la poupée*. In Paris, Bellmer then devoted himself to drawing, engraving, and printmaking, focusing on a repertoire of young girls and metamorphosed bodies. His partner, the artist and writer Unica Zürn, shared his life beginning in 1954. These prints, presented as envisioned by the artist, reflect this graphic universe.
