367 - Affiche Ancienne Original vintage Portuguese anti-fascist poster: Solidariedade com o povo de Espanha / Solidarity with the people of Spain. The poster was published in Lisbon by the CDE (Comissao Democratica Eleitoral — Democratic Electoral Commission), a broad coalition of the democratic opposition fighting against the Portuguese Estado Novo dictatorship. The poster was created to mark a day of international solidarity with the Spanish people, who were simultaneously struggling against the Francoist dictatorship next door. Image features an outlined map of Spain bleeding heavily from its borders, a human figure lying slain and bloodied stabbed in his side by a Nazi Swastika, bold red lettering reads Espanha across the centre of the map, with a clenched fist in place of Portugal.
