233 - Affiche Ancienne Original vintage railway travel poster for France The Loire Valley in German - Frankreich Loiretal - issued by the state owned French national railways (SNCF Societe Nationale des Chemins de Fer Francais; founded 1938) featuring a colourful geometric Cubist inspired painting by Jacques Despierre (1912-1995) of trees and building rooftops with church spires rising in front of a stone bridge over the Loire river leading across fields to hills in the distance. The Loire Valley is a valley located in the middle stretch of the Loire river in central France, in both the administrative regions Pays de la Loire and Centre-Val de Loire. It is referred to as the Cradle of the French and the Garden of France due to the abundance of vineyards, fruit orchards, and artichoke and asparagus fields, which line the banks of the river. Notable for its historic towns, architecture, and wines, the valley has been inhabited since the Middle Palaeolithic period. Good condition, creasing, pinholes, minor staining.
