PUIFORCAT - André VASSORT Workshop, 1980s Art Deco-style bracelet in 800‰ silver and 750‰ yellow gold, featuring articulated rectangular links embellished with hemicylindrical plates of onyx and red jasper, accented with stepped details. Tilting hook clasp concealed within a link. Rear safety chain in 750‰ white gold. Signed “PUIFORCAT.” Made in France; diamond-shaped hallmark of the André VASSORT workshop. Length: 18 cm. Link width: 1.5 cm. Gross weight: 67.4 g. (Some scratches). During the 1920s and 1930s, the House of Puiforcat was one of the leading figures of the Art Deco movement in France. In the 1980s, the House experienced a revival following its acquisition in 1983 by Eliane Scali. She sought to highlight the House’s history while also revitalizing it. In the field of jewelry, this involved reissuing designs from the archives and then launching a collection of new designs in 1986. The creation of this collection was entrusted to the excellent Atelier Vassort. These pieces, crafted from precious metals (gold, silver) and decorative stones (jade, onyx, carnelian, amber, mother-of-pearl, agate), pay homage to the Art Deco style that so profoundly shaped the House’s identity, as well as to Jean Puiforcat. This tribute is reflected in our bracelet, with its stepped design and colors so characteristic of this avant-garde style.
