Work from the second half of the 19th century Neo-Renaissance spoon in 750‰ yellow gold; the twisted handle is topped with a four-lobed motif composed of intertwined rings embellished with fleurons and fleurs-de-lis, partially highlighted with white and green enamel. Dimensions: 10.7 x 2.4 cm. Gross weight: 18.8 g. (Weld marks, normal wear and tear, missing enamel). The polylobed motif at the end of this spoon’s handle belongs to the ornamental vocabulary of the Neo-Renaissance style, with its sculptural, even architectural forms. It is reminiscent of the motifs developed by Louis Wièse beginning in the late 19th century.
