JAPAN Large covered bronze incense burner, the body decorated with medallions of birds in flowering branches; the foot decorated with medallions of Buddhist lions, the lid in the shape of a kirin (small missing teeth and tail); two handles in the shape of stylized elephant heads. Unsigned. Japan, circa 1900. H. 41 cm without lid; 58.5 cm with. (Restoration to lid?)
