MID-19TH-CENTURY VICTORIAN PORTRAIT, HAND-ILLUMINATED. This is a portrait of a woman, likely in ambrotype format (emulsion on glass plate), presented in its original period hard case with an oval interior frame made of engraved gilded brass and a velvet-lined interior. It stands out for its exceptional and delicate hand-coloring, evident in the rosy hue of the cheeks and the intense shade of the neck ribbon. The case shows signs of wear due to the passage of time. Dimensions: 7.5 x 6 cm
