240 - Rare Model 1830/1882 cavalry officer’s saber, with a seven-pronged bronze guard forming a shell, chased with foliage, based on the 1830 Préval model; the crossguard is chased with a fleur-de-lis; the tang is made of brown horn, filigree-worked; blade with a single hollow edge, signed on the back: “Mre d'armes de Châtt February 1891 - Offer de Cavie Mle 1882 Entse A. Treuille,” length 95.5 cm; iron scabbard, with a single ring-style ferrule; total length 115 cm. It is presented with its senior officer’s wrist strap made of black silk thread, featuring a tassel of gold passementerie.
