209 - 1792-model saber for mounted chasseurs officers, single-branch brass guard adorned with braiding, diamond-shaped guard plates, and a long-tailed cap; signed beneath the crossguard: “MEUNIER,” fully filigree-worked tang; slightly curved Montmorency-style blade, stamped with the lictor’s fasces; leather scabbard, three brass fittings, cut out and decorated with fillets; the pommel also features a button for attachment to a shoulder strap, iron pommel; length 96.5 cm. (Leather is old, but likely added later).
