[Corancez L.]: Itinéraire d' une partie peu connue de l' Asie Mineure. Paris, 1816 First and only edition. In 8vo, contemporary full leather slightly rubbed at the covers, spine very richly gilt. Complete: 437 p. and one large copper-engraved folded map. Text clean and bright. Overall very good condition. Corancez traveled from 1809 to 1812 in Asia Minor, Cyprus, and Syria. His account contains very detailed information about many cities and places in southern Anatolia, still completely unexplored at the time, and includes a chapter on Cyprus. He toured extensively around the island, visiting Famagusta, Larnaca, Kirinia, Nicosia, and several villages. A fine travel account. References: Atabey 281, Blackmer 403
