337 - Large Filigrana Art Glass Charger Featuring Classic Spiral Pattern 20th century, Italian Artist/Designer/Manufacturer: Murano-Style Marking(s);notes: None Materials: Art Glass platter Cataloger Note: The technique used here closely resembles traditional Filigrana (filigree) glasswork, a method perfected on the island of Murano, Italy. It involves embedding opaque white glass canes (latticino) into a clear glass body while it is being spun and shaped. The resulting spiral design creates a striking, hypnotic pattern moving inward from the rim. Similar postmodern and mid-century designs were famously produced by Italian houses like Yalos Murano and Japanese studios like Kurata Glass. 23" diameter Good condition.
