Platinum ring featuring a rectangular synthetic emerald set in an asymmetrical setting adorned with round emerald-cut diamonds and calibrated emeralds. Ring size: 51/52. Gross weight: 11.5 g Expert: Vanessa Soupault. This ring has a particularly interesting provenance. It was given to the French actress Irène Tunc (1934–1972) by her second husband, the director Alain Cavalier, whom she married in 1965. Crowned Miss France in 1954, Irène Tunc went on to have a distinguished film career, appearing notably in Claude Lelouch’s *Vivre pour vivre* (1967) alongside Yves Montand, as well as in *La Chamade* (1968) with Catherine Deneuve and Michel Piccoli. She died prematurely in a car accident in 1972 but remained a prominent figure in French cinema of her time. As an only child, she left no descendants; after her death, her mother passed this ring on to her first cousin Maryse, who has owned it ever since and has now decided to put it up for sale.
