Apulian pelike pottery, red-figure technique, Magna Graecia, 4th century BC. One side depicts a bride seated on a stool in the center of the composition, elegantly dressed and adorned with jewels, flanked by two figures making offerings: a man leaning on a basin holds a cup and a crown, and on the other side, a woman with a chest and a fan. Above, a pair of winged Erotes, one holding a cist and a mirror, the other a floral garland. On the other side, a winged youth—possibly an androgynous Eros-Thanatos—holds a cist and a thyrsus, pursuing a woman carrying a fan and a crown. Restored. Provenance: French private collection. Height: 39 cm
