A tea-dust glazed long-necked vase Tea-dust glaze (chaye mo you) is a glaze that produces fine mottled flecks in tones ranging from yellowish brown to olive green, evoking the appearance of powdered tea leaves. It is celebrated as a glaze brought to full maturity at the imperial kilns of Jingdezhen during the Qing dynasty, particularly in the Yongzheng and Qianlong reigns. Its subdued tonality and quiet lustre have long made it especially prized among monochrome glazes, favored by literati taste. The present piece bears this tea-dust glaze over an elegant form with a slender, gracefully rising neck. H: 14cm D: 12.5cm Wooden box Unsigned, with a zitan stand.
