German School 19th ct. 62 x 49 cm Wooded landscape. Oil/canvas/cardboard/canvas. Private collection, Stuttgart. The former attribution to Johann Wilhelm Schirmer can no longer be upheld. We would like to thank Marcell Perse for his valuable insights. Judging by the composition and style of painting, the work can probably be broadly attributed to the Düsseldorf Academy and, consequently, to the landscape painters of Schirmer’s class.
