18th-century German School, Allegory of the Passing of Time, Vanity, HST, 62.5 x 80 cm, re-stretched, minor losses. An interesting symbolic/allegorical painting in which Chronos steers a boat carrying various figures representing different stages of life; in the background, a coastline where a tomb and a skeleton are visible; the upper part of the painting is centered on an angel holding a scroll with Gothic inscriptions.
