Albert von Goldschmidt-Rothschild and returned by Kulturstiftung Schloss Fasanerie to his heirs. Cf. the painting by Cappelle in Margarita Russell, Jan van de Cappelle 1624/6-1679, Leigh-on-Sea 1975, no. 49 and fig. 78, sold at Christie’s London in December 2007 (lot 60).
