2 silver coins from 2002 issued by Deutsche Post, “Introduction of the Euro as Legal Tender,” confirmed as misstrikes. .999 fine silver. The coins feature the special postal postmarks. Both are securely packaged in blister card packaging with a slipcase. One of them bears the stamp “Farewell to the DM as a Means of Payment” with an incorrect reverse side. The obverse and reverse were actually supposed to have the same lettering. Here, however, the reverse reads “Farewell to Pure Pfennig Stamps.” Included is correspondence between the previous owner and Deutsche Post from March 2003, which confirms an “error by the mint” and describes the specimen as the only known “one-of-a-kind” example to date. Slipcase approx. 15 x 15 cm
