Large Baroque angel, wooden sculpture from southern Germany/the Alpine region, c. 1700 A fully three-dimensional altar figure of an angel with a flattened back. The angel kneels on the left-hand side of a larger altarpiece composition and would likely have had a counterpart on the right-hand side. His hands are gesturally directed towards the centre of the altar; due to the single-view composition, he has only one wing, which is tucked in. Carved from lime wood, painted and partially gilded; height 75 cm, width 58 cm, depth 15 cm; in fine original condition
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
