Ecaterina Vrana, "Romania", large oil painting Ecaterina Vrana, 1969 Constanța, Romania - 2019 Bucharest, Romania, an expressive, informal composition with partially impasto application of paint, featuring the lettering ‘Romania’ in the centre, oil on canvas, 68 x 110 cm, signed “Romania”, unframed. About the artist: E. Vrana studied painting at the Academy of Arts in Bucharest and developed a distinctive style in which she applies paint thickly to the canvas, thereby creating a sense of three-dimensionality. In 2014, she was awarded the Painting Prize by the Romanian Artists’ Union. Her works have been exhibited internationally and are now held in public and private collections across Europe and the USA.
